When a user makes a request to download a webpage the proxy server retrieves the file,sends it to the user, and keeps a copy in its memory. Also, because files are not downloaded from the Internet as frequently, the proxy server helps reduce network traffic. There is quite a large number of public proxy servers in many countries but most of them are not anonymous.
Besides that, some proxy servers can also hide the very fact that you are surfing through a proxy server. Normally, the clients and server are connected with A Hub, Wireless Hub, Switch or Router. We know that the server may have multiple IP addresses, but must have one that is used to connect with other LAN clients. The simplest way to check the server can access the Internet, is to input a web site address into the browser and see if the machine is able to access the webpage. In this case, the clients can access the Internet directly with the Routers bypass proxy server.
